Mojitos!

I got a wooden muddler for like $2 at Potterybarn this weekend so I was determined to make some mojitos! They turned out really good! I used the recipe from the Potterybarn Taco & Mojito Party card.

Mojito Recipe
1.5 oz premium rum
3 springs fresh mint
1 tspn fresh lime juice
1 tbsp sugar
Chilled club soda or seltzer
Ice

In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a muddler to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lime juice, and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum, and top off with chilled club soda or seltzer. Add a lime slice and the remaining mint.

Phoenix, AZ Trip 4/17-4/18/10

Here are some shots from our quick 24 hr stay in Phoenix. We flew in from Las Vegas for Alf and Emilee's wedding, which was that same night. We did rent a car and we were able to see alot of the city before it started. We got some cool pics by various crazy cactus at the Barry Goldwater Memorial. We also found time to have lunch with Aaron and Rakel. The wedding and the ceremony were beautiful. Congrats Alf and Emilee!

Menu Monday!

This is my very first recipe post...(using this first post to learn how to do all this blog stuff) :) Anyhow, Monday is one of the few nights that the kids have no sports or practices, so I usually always cook on Mondays. I hope to share new recipes here on the blog at least once a month.

So, tonight was German night! I made Jagerschnitzel with Bacon Mushroom Gravy and homemade Spaetzel with nutmeg from scratch! (I have Guy Fieri and Tyler Florence to thank, I love the easy recipe versions on Food Network.com!) These breaded pork cutlets are so yum when you drown them in the mushroom wine sauce...even the kids about licked their plates!

Las Vegas Trip 4/13-4/16/10

Here are some of my favorite pictures from our trip we took last week to Las Vegas. We had so much fun with Aubrey and Brandon...We ate some amazing food, toured the Hoover Dam, partied at the Hofbrauhaus, saw the Beatles Love show at the Mirage, had drinks at the Wynn, went up in the Paris Eiffel Tower, visited the Bellagio flower conservatory, and got to see Aubrey and Brandons new house.

I did it!

Inspired by my friend whom has a wonderful and charming blog, I have created my own family blog today. So, lets see how this goes...I have a lot to learn to make this pretty. It is a work in progress!
Thanks Paige!
